This is a permanent procurement position suitable for candidates with a qualification in Supply Chain Management, Purchasing or Logistics and approximately 1–3 years of relevant buying/procurement experience.

About the Buyer Position
The successful candidate will be responsible for sourcing, purchasing and expediting the goods, materials and services required by B&E International’s operational and mining sites.
The position focuses on ensuring that purchases provide value for money, are delivered on time and comply with the company’s Supply Chain Management policies and Delegation of Authority.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
As a Buyer, your responsibilities will include:
- Sourcing, negotiating and purchasing goods, materials and services against approved requisitions.
- Obtaining and evaluating competitive quotations from approved suppliers.
- Creating and managing purchase orders.
- Following up on outstanding purchase orders and resolving supplier delivery delays.
- Maintaining supplier, pricing and purchase-order information on ORB Fusion and Sage.
- Checking goods received against purchase orders and resolving discrepancies with suppliers and the warehouse.
- Identifying opportunities to reduce procurement costs.
- Supporting supplier pre-qualification and vendor approval processes.
- Assisting with supplier performance evaluations.
- Preparing procurement reports for the Procurement and Logistics Manager.
- Ensuring procurement activities comply with B&E’s Health & Safety and SHEQ requirements.
Qualification Requirements
Applicants should have either:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Purchasing, Logistics or a related field; or
- A Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Purchasing, Logistics or a related field.
Experience Requirements
Candidates should have:
- 1–3 years of experience in buying or procurement.
- Experience within a mining, plant or engineering environment is preferred.
- Experience with ERP or procurement systems such as ORB Fusion, Sage or similar would be advantageous.
Skills Required
