About the Role
The Human Resources Intern will support the HR team in various administrative and operational tasks, focusing on recruitment, employee engagement, and administrative support within the HR function. This role is ideal for individuals seeking practical experience in a dynamic environment that values personal development and collaborative teamwork.
Key Responsibilities
– Assist in the recruitment process by reviewing resumes, scheduling interviews, and coordinating communication with candidates.
– Support onboarding processes for new employees, including preparation of orientation materials and scheduling training sessions.
– Maintain and update employee records in the HR database to ensure data accuracy and compliance with local laws and regulations.
– Participate in employee engagement initiatives, including surveys and events, and help analyze results to recommend improvements.
– Conduct research and prepare reports on HR trends, policies, and best practices as directed by the HR team.
– Assist in managing the HR department’s administrative tasks, including filing, document management, and other clerical duties.
– Collaborate with team members on various HR projects to enhance departmental workflows and procedures.
– Help address employee inquiries and provide general support to the HR team in day-to-day operations.
Requirements
– Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
– Demonstrable experience in administrative roles or internships, preferably within an HR setting.
– Proven track record of effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with strong attention to detail.
– Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment and manage multiple tasks effectively.
– Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience with HR software or databases is advantageous.
– Strong organizational skills and the ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
Preferred Qualifications
– Knowledge of South African employment laws and regulations is a plus.
– Experience or coursework in employee relations, talent acquisition, or HR management.
– Familiarity with HR analytics and reporting tools would be beneficial.
– Participation in HR-related extracurricular activities or organizations is an advantage.
